Beautification & Physical Improvement Committee

The Beautification & Physical Improvement committee oversees issues relating to the aesthetic appeal of the downtown, including the maintenance of the downtown clean-up program and the encouragement of general property improvements.

Over the past several years the Streetscapes Co. has been involved in a variety of beautification projects including: the banner project, sidewalk bulbing, flower and tree planting program, the summer clean-up program, and the street lighting enhancement project. Over 3000 flowers are planted every year to emphasize the importance of appealing walkways and green spaces. Two summer students are hired every summer to water and weed the flowers and to maintain the clean up program.

In 2004 the Beautification committee will be looking at other beautification options that would increase the general appeal of the BID. Suggestions are always welcome!
